Posted January 2Jan 2 Hi,Iam using Contabo VPS, Tried to install CWP on AlmaLinux 9 and Rocky Linux 9 the result was wrong there are lot of issue after installing on both OS. In contabo there was no option to install Centos versions. they only have these OS AlmaLinux 9, Debian 11 (64 Bit), Debian 12, Fedora 35, openSUSE Leap 15.3, Rocky Linux 9, Ubuntu 20.04 (64 Bit), Ubuntu 22.04.If you enable Mode security the Apache will stop working another thing is there are lot of another issue in DNS and other area. If CWP is not supporting these OS please let me know a good Control panel which assure best security and fast performance. Looking for a lowest cost and best in class
January 5Jan 5 AlmaLinux 8.10 seems to be a solid performer and upgrade path. This is what CWP says:“The best option in 2024 is still the AlmaLinux 8.” -—> https://control-webpanel.com/installation-instructions#step2AlmaLinux 9 has some missing features and PHP versions are limited to PHP 7.4 or higher. *EL9 is in beta stageIf you NEED 9.0 and if you have time on your hands you could install CWP on Alma 8.10 base OS and then upgrade from AlmaLinux 8.10 to AlmaLinux 9.X and see if it meets your needs.
January 6Jan 6 alamlinux 8 is still stable with CWP probably this year CWP will be stabilized with el9

Looking for a lowest cost and best in classHello, I am also using several Contabo VPS with AlmaLinux 9.x and CWP but the install issues (only 1 or 2 occurred) can be handled with some little correction. If you will be more specific with your issues may I can help you.So, I suggest to use AlmaLinux 9.x (latest). There may some issue with mod_security install (the mod_security config file have to be corrected manually)And there may some issue with postfix - openssl install, the config files have to be corrected manually,And there may some issue with amavis install, the config file have to be corrected manually. And finalizing the component install, the server with CWP and AlmaLinux 9.x running very well and stable. So, what were your issues?

I think there is no way to upgrade this to Alma 9, what do you think.

For a server I had to get PHP 5.6 running on AlmaLinux 9, but OpenSSL is not included in this PHP version yet. I had to keep a few outdated systems alive for a while. But, the CWP for AlamLinux 8 can run PHP 5.6 also.

The situation you describe, to recompile php5.6 with openssl from scratch seems to be "mission impossible" for the average user and if I get you right even for yourself.....

I am going to be doing a server migration. and doing a fresh CWP install on the existing one and before I build and rebuild a server...Is CWP Pro ready for Almalinux 9? CWP HQ says "AlmaLinux 9 has some missing features"What missing features? Is there a list / link to specs? development updates? I am running php 8.2 & 8.3 for WorPress and Nextcloudnginx/apache/Varnish/modsec/Anyways thanks for the feed back.

Saturday at 10:07 AM5 days As mentioned by others, AlmaLinux 8.x is recommended, but that OS is in it' extended security phase. Which means 8.10 is the last version. All new servers we put online are AlmaLinux 9.x, which a couple days ago had some large updates.EL9 has some bugs like you can't go below PHP 7.4.x, so if you need some old PHP version, then EL8 would be the only choice. It also has some quirks like CWP->CWP Migration doesn't work.Otherwise, it is pretty stable already.
